Education

• Everyone should be provided a quality education. However, our schools should be measured by academic and efficiency standards. Consolidation should not be based solely on enrollment numbers.
• Southern Arkansas University is a tremendous asset to our region. I will work hard to obtain funding for facilities and educational programs at SAU.

Economic Development

• New requirements for funding our education system have placed tremendous demands on our state budget. Decisions with respect to sources of revenue and expenditures should be favorable to economic development within our state and region.
• I will work with state agencies and local officials to promote economic development that will generate new jobs or maintain existing jobs in south Arkansas.
